Nesta quarta-feira (30), a Anvisa (Agência Nacional de Vigilância Sanitária) aprovou a prescrição de produtos à base de Cannabis sativa por veterinários para uso por pets e outros animais, bem como sua regularização pelo Mapa (Ministério da Agricultura e Pecuária).
Com a mudança, os médicos poderão prescrever:
- medicamentos à base de Cannabis registrados pela Anvisa;
- produtos de Cannabis com autorização sanitária emitida pela agência; e
- produtos de uso exclusivo animal que sejam regularizados pelo Mapa (Ministério da Agricultura e Pecuária).
Como vai funcionar a aprovação da Cannabis para animais?
A decisão altera a Portaria SVS/MS 344/1998, que trata da prescrição e dispensa de produtos controlados no Brasil. Assim como a lei determina para outros remédios controlados, os veterinários só poderão prescrever os medicamentos em receitas especiais que serão retidas nas farmácias.
De acordo com a Anvisa, a medida não altera a Resolução da Diretoria Colegiada 660/2022, que permite a importação por pessoa física somente para uso próprio (humano). Ou seja, a medida vale apenas para produtos registrados no Brasil, receitados por médicos habilitados pelo CFMV (Conselho Federal de Medicina Veterinária).
Enquanto no Brasil não existe produção de medicamentos veterinários com cannabis, os profissionais poderão prescrever aqueles autorizados pela Anvisa para humanos. A manipulação de produtos à base de Cannabis continua proibida.
A expectativa é de que grandes redes de pet shops passem a comercializar as medicações, de acordo com a Folha de S. Paulo.
A nova medida responde a um pedido do CFMV e do Mapa e será oficializada no Diário Oficial da União nos próximos dias.
Em 2019, a Resolução da Diretoria Colegiada 327/2019 regularizou a categoria de produtos de Cannabis para englobar um conjunto que não atenderiam aos requisitos técnicos de medicamentos.
Assim, os produtos do tipo autorizados pela Anvisa não têm indicações específicas aprovadas na agência. Eles devem ter avaliação de um profissional, enquanto os medicamentos precisam seguir regras específicas.
